Building Thinking Skills & Mind Benders from Janet M., CA -
 (.mp3 file -1 minute 30 seconds)

Mind Benders Book Series"I just wanted to share some more results with you.  My son, age 7 1/2, has finished his first book.  He finished the Mind Benders, grades 2-4.  I am even more convinced than when I made my initial purchase."

"MJ loves Thursday - it's his 'critical thinking day'. We do a little every day, but Thursday that's all he does - along with some reading.  I'm so glad we found these resources when we did.  What a difference it has made.  It's MJ's favorite part of the day, and for Kenzie the little school I do with her, because she's only 4 years old now, at least I know it's quality school, and most of all it's fun!" (SJ, MN)

Can You Find Me"He doesn't tire of these books.  With other workbooks, he tires of the repetition or is bored because of the lack of challenge.  Not that he knows all of the material in those other workbooks, they just don't require him to learn in a thoughtful way like Can You Find Me ? does."

Dr. DooRiddles"I took my kindergartner into the school for his bench mark testing and he did fantastic!! Anyway, the teacher asked me what I was using, I showed her Dr. DooRiddles.  The benchmark for initial sound fluency was 20-he got 137. The benchmark for nonsense word fluency was 10-he got 64. He's a 6 year old kindergartner and he's currently reading The Boxcar Children by himself. 18 months ago he was just learning his letters. Out of the three boys, he learned his letters last, but then I started with these resources this past summer, and he just took off. It's wonderful!"

"You've really got something good going here.  My son is no longer saying he is bored."

"Can I do double homework?".  (comments of a child who didn't want to stop working in our products).

"I noticed my dd was not doing well in math.  I started her on Mathematical Reasoning and Math Detective.  Her teachers saw a steady improvement in her math and they bought the curriculum. She was tested in math for an advanced algebra course and was accepted.  She now brings the mathematical reasoning resource with her to school and the school is considering purchasing more."   M.H., OR

Beginning Math Reasoning (ages 3-4)

The Beginning Math book is outstanding!  It is so colorful and engaging, it goes nice and slow for my 3 year old and my special needs 6 year old.  Love it!

Thanks to your resources, my daughter is now in the Gifted and Talented program.  We really like these materials. That's why we're purchasing more!  Li, NY

Building Thinking Skills

"My daughter really enjoys the Building Thinking Skills and Mind Benders.  They are proving to be a great way to keep her challenged and learning."

"I like the questions that they have me ask him."

"She just loves the book (Building Thinking Skills).  Wants to work in it all the time. She got it out to do some exercises this morning before we left for school."  C.O., Brooklyn, NY

Can You Find Me?

"Loves it!  Wants to do it every day."

"I've been using the Can You Find Me? with my 5 yr-old son the past few weeks along with his learning-to-read program and he loves these books!  It's great to see his little mind working and how pleased he is when he figures something out.  I like that these products are more challenging and thought-provoking than most workbooks geared for his grade level."

"My daughter absolutely loves the Can You Find Me? book.  That is her favorite.  I like it because I can ask her questions about how she arrived at the answer and understand her thinking processes.  Also, that way I know if she is guessing or really knows why that is right.  I never tell her if she gets an answer wrong, I simply use that information to know what subjects we should read about and talk about in the rest of our preschool time.  I like that she is just not memorizing things and really has to think logically to arrive at the answer.  It also helps me gauge how much she is learning from other curriculum.  These are great for teaching many of those abstract concepts that aren't covered in more traditional curriculum."

Dr. DooRiddles

"The whole family likes to sit around and work these together."

"I took the Dr. DooRiddles, cut them up and pasted them to business cards.  Then, combined the set on a ring.  We take these cards with us outside to the swing set and wherever we go.  I've also designed a Birthday Party Treasure hunt using the riddles, slightly modified to fit the areas/things around my house."

"I took my kindergartner into the school for his bench mark testing and he did fantastic!! Anyway, the teacher asked me what I was using, I showed her Mind Building Reading and Dr.DooRiddles.  The benchmark for initial sound fluency was 20-he got 137. The benchmark for nonsense word fluency was 10-he got 64. He's a 6 year old kindergartner and he's currently reading The Boxcar Children by himself. 18 months ago he was just learning his letters. Out of the three boys, he learned his letters last, but then I started with this program this past summer, and he just took off. It's wonderful!"

Mind Benders

"The MIND BENDERS are a HUGE hit! Originally I purchased the A1 book for my 9 year old son.  This was my first Bright Minds purchase.  My sister then had a workshop, so I ordered the second book for my son and the first book for my 3 year old.  by the time I had my own workshop...surprisingly, it wasn't my son or my daughter wanting the next books...it was my Husband!  So, I worked extra hard, had a great show and ended up getting B1-B4 in the software version for FREE along with a ton of other incredible products!

My son absolutely LOVES Mind Benders!"

"I just wanted to share some more results with you.  My son, Matt, age 7 1/2, has finished his first Minds Benders.  I am even more convinced than when I made my initial purchase.  Matt and I worked together through the book until about the last 1/3 of the book when he became independent in solving the puzzles.  Immediately after finishing the book, Matt created his own Mind Bender puzzle for his father to solve!  I've always heard that a person has mastered a concept when they can teach it back to another person.  He's already begging for the next level in Mind Benders."

" My daughter really enjoys the Building Thinking Skills and Mind Benders. They are proving to be a great way to keep her challenged and learning."

Reading Detective

"It  really does a good job of making them look into what they are reading and having them pull out the information."

"It makes them slow down and get the details."

"I've found the Reading Detective to be so good, I've put away my EPS material, permanently.  Reading Detective is all I'll be using from here on out." (Tutor, MN)

"10% jumps every year in the reading comprehension component of the Iowa Test of Basic Skills, and I attribute it solely to his work in Reading Detective.  More importantly, his confidence with this kind of work is huge!  He's at the top of the scale now after two years."

Revenge of the Math Spiders

"Working fabulously.  She loves it and is very challenged by it."

Science Detective

"I just love that book.  You'll have to pass on to (the office) that the "beginning" book is great, and they should hurry up with more!"

"My son's science section of the ITBS went from a 5th grade level to half way through 9th grade, largely due to his work with Science Detective."  (CR, MN)

Word Benders

"I like that she has to use both a dictionary and thesaurus to solve these."

Visual Perceptual Skill Building.

"LOVES the Visual Perceptual Skill Building."
